Now Nostalgia Gentle Clay Herbal Shampoo Bar Key Ingredients and Why It's a Safe and Gentle Shampoo for All Hair Types
I made the Gentle Clay Shampoo Bar because I wanted to create a gentle option for cleansing the scalp and hair that would be healing, cleaning, and moisturizing. I am in love with Clays for detoxing and cleansing, When you combine clays with honey and Apple Cider Vinegar it equals shiny healthy hair. There are some people who use clays and or ACV alone to cleanse their hair/skin regularly…but I wanted to take it a notch up and make an actual bar that used these key ingredients.
Apple cider vinegar- is great ingredient for hair fall, known for balancing the PH of the skin, keeps bacteria at bay which aids in reducing dandruff, contains zinc helps hair to have a natural shine, and it acts as a conditioning agent.
Honey- a natural humectant which draws moisture to the hair which is great for moisture lock in, honey is known for its ability to speed up wound healing, (personal note this ingredient means a lot to me because I’ve witnessed it heal my Gma and her bed sores. I use it regularly to heal her skin) it reduces inflammation and it also acts as a natural conditioner much like ACV…these pair very well together.
Kaolin clay-With all the conditioning and moisturizing you need something to absorb excess build up on the scalp that’s what Kaolin clay does. If you have an oily scalp Kaolin clay is a great option because although it absorbs excess oils it’s not a harsh clay so there is no stripping or irritation.
Rinse hair thoroughly with warm water until hair is completely saturated, create lather with soap bar in hands, apply soap bar directly to scalp and massage in thoroughly until bar has lathered throughout scalp. When rich lather has covered scalp, completely rinse shampoo from hair with warm not hot water. Repeat this process a second time for a deeper cleanse. follow up with an all natural conditioner and styler.
